Spend the first day of your vacation cycling and enjoying the colors of Provence and the French Riviera then for rest of the tour move on and discover a region of Italy that few have experienced- the Western Apennine mountain’s of the Liguria region! The Italian Riviera is a very diverse region, extending from the Alpes to the blue Mediterranean. It has impressive mountains, a vast national park and is the flower capital of Europe. This exclusive cycling vacation combines the area’s most scenic routes along with exploring some of the most charming towns in Italy. Trip highlights include overnights in medieval Noli, Passo di Nava and lively San Remo. You’ll ride past hilltop medieval villages on picturesque roads that wind in and out of Olive groves, vineyards and riverside gorges. The terrain is more challenging than Tuscany or Provence but just a bit easier than the Alpes or Dolomiti. If you’ve ever wanted to cycle more off the beaten path and cycle the roads less traveled this is the trip for you.
June 22nd: Leave USA.
June 23rd: Arrive Nice- Transfer to our hotel ,check in, get bikes fitted and built, that evening we will have a group meeting followed by a Welcome group dinner.
June 24th: (La Gaude)On your first ride you will cycle on quiet roads on your way to the turquise waters of Cote d Azur and the town of Cannes . After a seaside lunch a short ride or transfer back to La Gaude. Open night for dinner in medieval city of Vence.
June 25th: (Noli) After a short 45 minute transfer to the Italian village of Zuccarello, cycle over Colle Bernardo and Colle Quinzo & Colle Melongo to the quint medieval seaside village of Noli. (50 miles/6,000 ft) We will spend two nights at this beautiful medieval seaside village.
June 26th: (Noli) Sleep in and after a delicious breakfast buffet cycle this incredible loop that takes you into the interior of the Maritime Alps for a fantastic climbing challenging route cycling through olive groves and local vineyards followed by a fast twisty descent to our Mediterranean seaside village hotel. (61 miles/4,000 ft) Group dinner.
June 27th: (Lorenzina) After a delicious breakfast we head inland into the Maritime Alps. Today is our longest and one of the more challenging routes of the tour . It will take you through the local mountains, traversing along the valleys and quint little villages before coming to the saddleback in our hotel located in Passo di Nava. (72 miles/8,000 ft)
June 28th: (San Remo) On this ride of the tour we ride through Maritime Alps back to the cosmopolitan town of San Remo going over three passes of Colle Rosa , Colle Di Nava & Colle di Oggia finishing at our seaside hotel in San Remo. (75 miles/7,500 ft)
June 29th: This morning on our last ride of the tour will do a classic local loop taking on the Poggio which is usually the victory deciding climb featured during the Milano-San Remo Spring Classic .After lunch a short afternoon van transfer brings us back to our Nice area hotel. Late afternoon airport or train station shuttles or you can stay an OPTIONAL night and explore Nice.
June 30th: Leave for US/Shuttle service in the morning as well.
