Tour Highlights

Join us on this fantastic cycling vacation that will take us north of San Francisco into a Northern California area that offers some of the best cycling scenic routes and roads in the world. You cycle through a captivating terrain mix of towering redwood groves that are 1400 years old and stand 200-250 ft. tall.You will also ride along a sun-kissed and ruggedly beautiful California coastline, charming seaside villages and don’t forget the world famous vineyards. Our days will be spent meandering cycling routes that are emphasized by flat to gently rolling vineyards of Napa and Dry Creek Valleys as well as secluded stretches of California iconic Highway One and famous climbs like Kings Ridge and Coleman Valley Roads. Our evenings will be spent at quaint lodgings in Calistoga, Healdsburg, Sea Ranch and Occidental where we will satisfy our palates with fresh California cuisine and sample some of it’s award winning wines.

Daily Itinerary

October 25th – Welcome to Golden State. San Francisco airport pick up and hotel check in. Our mechanic will be happy to help you unpack and build your bike. Tonight meet your fellow guests at our “Welcome Meeting/ Group Dinner Party”
October 26th – Cycle Napa to Calistoga. After breakfast and hotel check out we will have a short transfer to Napa Valley. With easy, flat to rolling terrain and an abundance of wineries, this route provides a fantastic first day of cycling and introduction to the heart of Northern California wine country.Group meeting and open night for dinner in Calistoga.

October 27th – Cycle Calistoga to Healdsburg. On today’s ride you will cycle through mixed-tree woodlands and the fertile vineyards of Alexander Valley, where rows of vines are framed by the nearby mountains, with a scenic background that creates many fantastic photo opportunities. After lunch in Geyserville our route continues to Sonoma County and the town of Healdsburg which is renowned for offering all the fine things in life …five star cuisine, award winning wines and winding country roads through rolling valleys and hills of world – acclaimed wine appellations. Group meeting and open night for dinner.

October 28th – Healdsburg to Sea Ranch. After a delicious breakfast and hotel check out we continue our cycling vacation. Today we will be cycling though a variety of scattered regional vineyards before the route takes a turn west towards the famous climb of Kings Ridge Road..which is considered by many to be the crown jewel of North Bay cycling roads and is included yearly as a part of Levi Lipheimer Gran Fondo. From here on the views open up as the costal mountain range reclines towards the ocean with a Disneyland like ride on a ribbon of road which snakes its way down straight to the Pacific in a fast, wide open descent. This stretch of coastline is remote, beautiful and lightly populated making it an ideal cyclist playground. Tonight we will be lodging at ecologically oriented Sea Ranch Lodge that offers stunning views and is perched high on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. Group meeting and group dinner at the hotel’s award winning restaurant – the Black Point Grill.

October 29th – Sea Ranch to Occidental. Today is all about more spectacular California costal riding as the first part of our route hugs the coastline and Highway One heading south before talking a turn inland with a short but challenging climb and a forested ridge ride of Seaview Rd. After a fast twisty descent you will once again turn south along the coast on some of the most scenic coastal terrain California has to offer, until reaching a charming fishing village, Bodega Bay. After seaside lunch the route heads north for a short distance before getting to the base of Coleman Valley Road, one of the more steep and challenging rides featured in a professional bike race, the Amgen Tour of California. The final stretch of todays ride has us going into the majestic redwoods again on our way to bohemian town of Occidental. Group meeting and group Farewell Dinner.

October 30th- Occidental to Mill Valley. After breakfast and hotel check out our final ride is mostly up and down with many rolling hills and scenic vistas there are no major climbs till the last part of todays route. After lunch in Mill Valley we will van transfer back to SFO airport hotel. Our mechanics will assist you in packing your bike for your flight home that afternoon or evening, Tonight is an “OPTIONAL NIGHT”. Hotel check in for pre-reserved guests. Airport shuttles this evening and tomorrow morning.
