If we must cancel a Tour
Breaking Away Bicycle Tours reserves the right to cancel your tour for any reason. On the occasion that we cancel your tour, we will refund to you all payments received to date. Such refund will be Breaking Away Bicycle Tours’ entire liability to you with respect to a cancelled trip. We will not be responsible for any costs or expenses you incurred in relation to the tour including airline tickets, hotels, visa fees or other related expenses associated with the tour. Our tour prices are based upon a minimum participation level. If our minimum enrollment is not met we are under no obligation to run the tour. We will inform you at least 45 days prior to the original departure date if your trip is being cancelled.
Release of Liability
Because of the inherent risks involved with cycling and any type of travel, all participants are forewarned that they must read and sign a “Release of Liability” waiver, which will be provided in their confirmation packet. Because portions of our cycling routes include roads with little or no shoulder, you should be comfortable sharing the road with vehicular traffic. Breaking Away Bicycle Tours, Inc. reserves the right to cancel any tour if we receive a low participation of 4 guests or less at 100 days before any trip departure date. If a trip is cancelled all guest’s deposits or payments will be returned in full with no further liability or obligations.
Reservations & Deposits
To reserve space, please submit the completed Reservation Form along with your deposit of $600. per person, per Tour (check or money orders- we accept credit cards for trip deposits only). The balance is due 110 days prior to trip departure. Reservations are non-transferable.
Do not book any flights until you receive our confirmation packet with exact pickup/drop off airport locations and times concerning your reservation. European Trips: Because of the time change you will need to depart the USA on the first date of your trip in order to meet us in Europe on the correct arrival date. Example: Tour des Alpes/Tour de France participant books flight on July 16th and will arrive into Geneva on July 17th. Your return flights will get you back in the USA on the same date as your departure because of the reverse time change. (Most trips end in the late afternoon and because most flights depart Europe in the morning for the USA you will need to return home the next day). Please allow enough time for packing your bike and airport check-in. Please do not book any plane flights until you receive your “Confirmation Packet” pertaining to your specific reservation.
We offer deluxe Three and Four Star hotels depending on the trip (all with private bath and shower); all are chosen for their surroundings, locations and charm. Standard rooming is double occupancy. Single guest reservations will be assigned a similar roommate. Single room option is available.
