It’s the dream coastal road. This spectacular fall cycling vacation features some of the most diverse coastal cycling routes in the world. Start your tour in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains in the beautiful beach town of Half Moon Bay. Cycle iconic Highway One along the California Central Coast, on road suspended high above the Paciﬁc Ocean. You will ride hugging the edge of the continent as it snakes down the California coast, ﬂirting with towering majestic redwood forests, rugged cliffs and crashing waves. Yes, those ocean vistas are incredible. You’ll see – rugged coastline, sea lions, historic lighthouses and old Spanish missions, enjoy a charming evening out in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Overnights in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, the sleepy beach village of Cambria and the Dutch Colonial- ﬂavored town of Solvang. We will cycle past luxurious inns and the sun-kissed Santa Ynez Valley vineyards & explore Hearst Castle. On this cycling vacation more than just coastal scenery will take your breath away. During the evenings, dine on California cuisine while sipping locally grown wines at its best – both as varied and exceptional as the rides themselves. October 9th: Welcome to Golden State. San Jose Airport pick up and hotel check in. Our mechanic will be happy to help you unpack and build your bike. Tonight meet your fellow guests at our “Welcome Meeting/ Group Dinner Party”
October 10th: After breakfast and a short transfer we will began our coastal journey. On todayʼs route you cycle from Half Moon Bay to surf town USA, the town of Santa Cruz. Biking along Highway One… you will cycle past numerous state parks and beaches, historic lighthouses and tiny coastal towns. We will end our ﬁrst day in the laid back, surfer town of Santa Cruz. Stroll and watch the barking sea lions and seals on the famous pier and boardwalk or go for a swim in the Paciﬁc Ocean before that evenings group meeting and an open night for dinner.

October 11th: Today’s ride will take us from Santa Cruz to Monterey. We will head out of Santa Cruz cycling along the Paciﬁc and past famous surf breaks while enjoying sublime views of the Paciﬁc Coast and Salinas Valley farmland (famous for it’s artichokes). Along the way, you may see sea lions and seals as we ride through Elkhorn Slough at Moss Landing. The ﬁnal 15 miles of today’s route take you onto a bike path which leads to the historic town of Monterey which features Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Take time to explore Monterey and enjoy the views before our group meeting and group dinner.

October 12th: After a delicious oceanside breakfast and hotel check out today’s ride on this Central Coast cycling vacation will began with a side trip to scenic and storied 17 mile drive and emerald green golf courses of Pebble Beach. We will continue on though quaint, artsy village of Carmel. Finally after exiting Carmel we will enter the renowned Big Sur coastline which has some of the most incredible carved out coastal scenery anywhere in the world. Take a photo opportunity and create a memory on one of the most photographed bridges along the Paciﬁc Coast – Bixby Creek Bridge. We then go on with a climb to Hurricane Point and ﬁnally ﬁnish todays ride among majestic towering redwoods in Big Sur. Group dinner.

October 13th: Today we continue our journey on a costal stretch thats been called “ the greatest meeting of land and sea”. This route is epic -the Big Sur coast commends wide open costal views that go on forever and dramatic cliffs and ridges high above the Paciﬁc prevail for the ﬁrst ﬁfty miles. Once we tackle and crest a series of hills, the rolling costal terrain gives away to a ﬂatter ranch-land. We’ll cycle past an elephant seal colony and take a side trip to Hearst Castle before ﬁnally ﬁnishing today’s spectacular ride in a sleepy seaside town of Cambria that sits tucked away between the Paciﬁc Ocean and the hills of Central coast wine country. Open night for dinner.

October 14th: This morning after a delicious breakfast today you’ll board your bike and head south, the ﬁrst part of our route hugs the Paciﬁc coastline as we pedal through scenic beach towns of Cayucos and Morro Bay before heading slightly inland through Morro Bay National Esutary and continuing on through the historic town of San Lois Obispo (SLO is one of the oldest communities in CA that was founded in 1772) before taking a turn west towards the ocean and heading once again down the coast to beach town of Pismo Beach. Our hotel for the evening is located on the cliffs above Paciﬁc Ocean, watch the sunset from your room or walk down to the beach and explore the tide pools before our nightly group meeting. Open night for dinner.

October 15th: After breakfast and hotel check out our ﬁnal ride of this central coast cycling vacation heads into the interior of California Central Coast farm and wine country. Your route starts with rolling hills cycling passing through idyllic ranch-land before leveling out and cycling through the quaint little town of Guadalupe and out-skirting the town of Santa Maria. After Santa Maria you will quickly ﬁnd yourself leaving the farmland and heading into the picturesque hills of Santa Ynez wine country with its 100 + wineries scattered throughout the region. The route carries on through sleepy village of Los Olivos ﬁnishing with a climb and descent on Ballard Canyon Road to the Danish Village of Solvang. That evening our ﬁnal Farewell dinner party.

October 16th: After breakfast and hotel check out we will have a van transfer back to San Jose airport hotel. Our mechanics will assist you in packing your bike for your ﬂight home that afternoon or evening. San Jose airport transfers that afternoon and evening or if you may choose to spend an OPTIONAL hotel night and depart the next morning.
